It’s hard to know exactly what Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would have wanted to do with his next project, but the actor recently talked to Entertainment Weekly about the possibility of reprising his role as Superman in a Superman film.
“I have a script for a superhero film.
I don’t know what it is, but I think I would do it,” Johnson said.
“What I would want to do is the one that I can play, because I’ve done a lot of things in my career where it’s the most fun.
That’s the one I’m passionate about.”
The actor said he would want the project to be about a character, not a plot, but that the script he’s working on for the project will also include “things that happen in the story.”
“It’s not like a Superman movie.
It’s not a Superman origin story.
It’ll be a story where we meet this character.
I want it to be a character who has been around for a while.
I love Superman, and I know what he’s about, so I’d love to bring him back.
But it will be a different character.”
Johnson said that he doesn’t have a specific date in mind for the Superman film, but he’s hoping to begin filming it sometime in 2019.
“There’s no time frame.
We’re in a very good place.
It feels like the right time for me to do it, because it’s a character that I’ve been playing,” he said.”
It would be a fun project for a lot people, especially for the younger generation,” Johnson added.
“They’re more excited about the characters, and they’re looking for something that they’re passionate about and they want to be in.
It would be the kind of thing that I would be able to do, so if I could get a green light from Warner Bros., I’d be happy to do that.
I would love to do Superman again.”
