The city is working on plans to put an outdoor terrace in front of the Capitol for the first time since a 2016 event.

The project was unveiled during a Tuesday afternoon ceremony to unveil the new $3.5 million Capitol Park Terrace, a $1 million, four-sided structure that includes two decks, a walkway and a patio area.

The new project comes on the heels of a successful project in the city’s historic center, with the Capitol Park Building now home to more than 1,000 pavilions, as well as the new State House.

The Capitol Park terrace is expected to be completed in 2021.

The Capitol Park project will feature a series of new structures designed by a firm that also designed the Capitol Garden in Washington, D.C., according to a news release.

One of those structures, the Capitol Square pavilion, is the first pavilion to include terrace decks, while the others will include an outdoor walkway, an indoor patio and a terrace.

A third structure, the Washington Monument pavilion is also in the works, as is the State House, which will include a terraced patio and walkway.

One of the new structures will include terraced decks, according to the announcement.

This will be the first in a series in which the new pavilion will include walkways that will connect to the terraces, and also include the option of extending terraces to connect to additional pavilitions, the release said.

A terraced pavilion will include additional walkways connecting to the pavilards, a new walkway that will link to the Capitol Building and the State Capitol Building.

The terraced deck will have a built-in railing that connects to the other pavilages, and will be positioned in the middle of the pavilion.

The walkway will have the option to be attached to a terracotta roof.

The pavilion can be accessed via a new elevated access road that will lead to the Capital Park Terracotta Wall.

The structure will also feature a new, curved roof, similar to the one on the Capitol Gardens.

In a statement released Tuesday, Mayor Muriel Bowser said the new terraced terrace will be a welcome addition to the new Capitol Park complex, which is expected be completed by 2021.

“This new pavilion demonstrates our commitment to providing the Capitol community with a welcoming and dynamic place to enjoy, and it’s an important part of our ongoing vision to transform this iconic building,” Bowser said in the statement.

“Today’s announcement is another step in the ongoing design of the entire Capitol Park building, which I hope will usher in a new era of Capitol Park,” Bowser added.
